ABOUT COACH ROCK LEE
Rock Lee is focused on teaching young men about life through the game of baseball. He always emphasizes the importance of education above baseball, but he also teaches young men about life and the importance of community through the game. Rock Lee is a military veteran, life-long coach, and community servant.
Below is a partial list of his community service:
- Community coordinator for Bunker Hill, Battle Forest, Yorktown and other surrounding subdivisions for the past 9 years and worked closely with the mayor’s office, police department and other agencies to resolve issues and concerns of residents and to make this community safe for our residents and children
- Mentored At-Risk students in Columbus Schools
- Mentored troubled youths at the Columbus Regional Detention Center
Little League Baseball Coach and mentor for young children - Assisted Habitat for Humanity in building homes
- Volunteer Income Tax Assistant to people with low income and the elderly
- Participated in the Nate Odoms Celebrity Football Clinic for our youths
- Former Board of Directors member for the March of Dimes
- Former Board of Directors member for Youth Detention Center and committee chairperson for the Annual Legislative Breakfast
- Former Board of Directors member for Golden K Kiwanis Club
- Former Board of Directors member and two-term President of the Kiwanis Club of Muscogee 2000, Inc.
- Kiwanis International Area Representative for New Club Building
- Member of the Census 2000 Team
- Two-term President of Britt David Computer Magnet Academy PTA, Inc. (2000-2002)
- Immediate Past President of Muscogee County Council of PTAs representing all 56 schools in the district
- Assisted in the development of a Key Club at Columbus High School
- Assisted in the development of a Builders Club at Blackmon Road Middle School
- Assisted in the development of a K-Kids Club at Brewer Elementary School
- Assisted in the revitalization of the Key Club at Carver High School
- Assisted in the revitalization of the Builders Club at Baker Middle School
- Visited several schools throughout the district as a guest speaker

- 1998 Mayor’s Proclamation “UNSUNG HERO” for being an exemplary citizen of Columbus, Georgia, who has conducted himself in a manner that has contributed significantly to community betterment and to inter-racial harmony and goodwill.

- 2008 Men’s Progressive Club community award for coaching and mentoring young youths
- 2008 Award for assisting with the Velocity Program at Blackmon Road Middle School for two years(which teaches students to stay away from alcohol, drugs, and other dangerous activities by signing a pledge)
- 2009 thank you from assistant principal at Britt David Elementary School for putting together the Black History Program and getting the guest speaker.
